Removal of bullshit
[edit]I have just removed about half the content of this article. I will now explain why:
First, it contained clear falsehoods. For example, the claim that there are 200,000 Moluccans in the Netherlands. In reality, it is about 45000 (Beets et al.).
After that follows a claim of about 800,000 Moluccans in (quote) "the United States (mainly concentrated in Maryland, Florida, California and New York), Netherlands, France, Israel (mostly by Moluccan Jewish), Italy, Denmark, United Kingdom, Russia (mainly in St. Petersburg), Australia, Brazil, Portugal and Austria." This is a highly detailed claim, but I cannot for the life of me find where it comes from. Searching for "Moluccans in the US" yields zero results. Searching for "Moluccans in the UK" also yields zero results (excluding offers to buy Moluccan cockatoos). Searching for "Moluccans in Austria" yields... zero results. I even searched in German. There is nothing. I cannot even find anything about the mere existence of Moluccan jews, not only in the diaspora, at all. Believe me. I searched in 3 different languages. The only thing I can find is this article, claiming the Moluccans are descended from a lost tribe of Israel, which is the clearest example of crackpottery I have ever encountered.
I cannot conceive where this information is coming from. I will freely admit to not speaking any Moluccan language, but it is frankly inconceivable that 1.4 million diaspora members would not have created a single article in any of the languages of their host countries. This is either made up, or someone has confused the Moluccans for some other group. Amphicoelias (talk) 11:03, 19 June 2016 (UTC)
