[edit]

I have removed the following part from the original text of Jamalzadeh's biography for the reason that despite my best efforts, I proved unable to understand it (what is Jamalzadeh's place/role in the following diatribe? Who are these "innocent youths"? and what has Jamalzadeh got to do with them?). If someone sees some sense in the following text, s/he should not hesitate to put it back; I have not deleted it out of respect for her/his original writer.

Jamalzadeh only begins the debate on the dilemma of Western-educated Iranians returning from abroad. For a long time thereafter, the reaction to these innocent youths' selfless endeavor to apply themselves and support their home and country constitutes a major chapter of the history of short story in Iran of Reza Shah. Neither at home nor in society it was found an appreciation of the efforts expended by these youth.

translations

[edit]

Could it be possible to start a list of translations of Jamalzadeh? I only know:

  • An Introduction to Persian Literature [ Reuben Levy ] (1969)

and a translation of this translation into Dutch:

and I know of

  • Isfahan is Half the World(1986)

but there surely must be more. 87.212.52.128 (talk) 07:53, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Birth date

[edit]

Why does the text say "The year 1895 has traditionally been taken as the year of his birth," but the birth/death line at the start give 1892?? Languagehat (talk) 14:21, 19 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
