I'm concerned that this article contains inappropriate verbatim copying - I checked this source and this one, and copying from both was present. Nikkimaria (talk) 20:40, 19 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Copyright problems

This article needs to be rewritten to remove any copyright content, I'm afraid, as it includes major passages from copyrighted sources.

For instance, The LA time blog says:

Albuflasa's family believes he is being punished because the government wants to reprimand Sunnis who had supported the pro-democracy demonstrations in Manama that were led by the island's Shiite majority. “When Mohamed came to the roundabout, it was like a surprise and a big attack for the government. They thought, ‘How could one of our guys go to the roundabout?’ Now they are making him pay the consequences,” his brother Rashed said.

The article says:

His comments touched on numerous controversial issues, including discrimination against the majority Shia population and the "political naturalization" of Sunnis from other countries, which the Shia opposition claims is permitted to change Bahrain's demographic balance.

The article says:

Albuflasa expressed support for public demonstrations that had begun the day before. Other content is also copied from these sources and may be copied from other sources as well.

I'm afraid this is not an acceptable use of copyright content on Wikipedia. While content may (if properly attributed for licensing compliance and to avoid Wikipedia:Plagiarism) be copied from verifiably public domain or compatibly licensed sites, it must otherwise - aside from brief and clearly marked quotations be written entirely from scratch. Please see Wikipedia:Copy-paste. It may be important in this case to note that content cannot be directly translated from sources in other languages, either, as this is also a copyright problem under US law.

Assistance rewriting this article from scratch is welcome. Please do not copy over content from the current version of the article, as all of it must be verified to be free of copying to be retained. --Moonriddengirl ^(talk) 22:50, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
