MOS:SURNAME says that when you aren't using Moeen Ali's fullname, you should use his surname, Ali, not his given name, Moeen- this article refers to him as both Moeen and Ali in different places. I know some cricketers, such as Shakib Al Hasan and Mahmudullah Riyad use their given name in articles, so was wondering which name people thought was most appropriate for this article? Does it really matter, it seems a quite subjective question? At international level, he is bowling all-rounder; at domestic level a batting one. For England he would not get in the team if weren't for his bowling; for Worcester, he bats in the top-order and his bowing is a bonus. At international level, he has bowled in more innings than he's batted, the reverse is true in domestic cricket. Spike 'em (talk) 18:43, 29 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Recently there have been a lot of potentially unconstructive (and regularly reverted) edits to this page changing Ali's grandfather's home from Azad Kashmir to 'Pakistan Occupied Kashmir'. Would it be worth temporarily blocking edits from new users? The Raincloud Kid (talk) 17:45, 3 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
