To all contributors: Thank you so much for updating this page from its very measly beginnings!! (Hobmcd 05:31, 25 June 2006 (UTC))[reply]

This article has a few too many unrestricted adjectives and un-cited quotes. It really needs a cleanup. -- Mikeblas 04:43, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Merge proposal

[edit]

The article Hello Mom! is only a track listing without coverage. If it can't be improved, it doesn't deserve an entire article: a copy of the listing in Modeselektor#Discography will do. --M4gnum0n (talk) 11:55, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I addded some info and references from Allmusic for Hello Mom!, I hope that helps keep the albums as seperate articles. I think they need to be kept seperate so people can find album art for these obscure albums. Amicianthony (talk) 16:41, 29 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Same goes for Happy Birthday!. --M4gnum0n (talk) 11:57, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Go for it! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.107.143.136 (talk) 06:36, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Doing so takes them out of the Category:Albums by artist tree. Albums MUST be accessible from that tree. So no. Bearcat (talk) 02:51, 12 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
We can't create a page for every nn album only because that category exists. --M4gnum0n (talk) 13:53, 18 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Firstly, if Wikipedia contains information specific to a particular album, that information must always be accessible from that tree. It doesn't mean we have to have an article about every album in existence, certainly, but if we do have an article about a particular album, it needs to be accessible from the albums tree. Secondly, if a notable artist recorded the album, then the album is itself notable by virtue of having been recorded by a notable artist. Notability does not equal "well, I've never heard of it". Bearcat (talk) 00:52, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Bearcat. If i look up Dark Side Of The Moon, i should see an album and data about it, not link to Pink Floyd. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.93.145.85 (talk) 22:07, 14 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
From WP:NMG#Albums: "In general, if the musician or ensemble that recorded an album is considered notable, then officially released albums may have sufficient notability to have individual articles on Wikipedia." That means, notability isn't automatically transmitted from artists to albums. And also: "Album articles with little more than a track listing may be more appropriately merged into the artist's main article or discography article, space permitting." applies here in my opinion. --M4gnum0n (talk) 13:56, 13 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have removed the merge templates as 23 months on, no consensus has been reached. kollision (talk) 12:26, 28 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Name

[edit]

Does anyone know where they came up with the name? That should probably be included at the start of the article.

Also: how to pronounce it? Is it /moʊd.səˈlɛk.tə(r)/ or /mo.de.səˈlɛk.tɔr/? Or something completely different? —Preceding unsigned comment added by James Who (talkcontribs) 05:47, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"Mode" means fashion. Or modus. But i don't know if that helps. It's pronounced that way: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UcolLdaPPnk --77.21.117.3 (talk) 10:17, 28 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
