Name

Can we clear this naming business up. It would certainly seem likely that the traditional Welsh name for this spot has been Mochras. It is also undeniably known to many as Shell Island - there are shells but there is no island! Shell Island is a name which appears in promotional and 'popular' accounts of the place. The Shell Island business based here (camping and more) is significant in this regard. Both names need to appear in the article, ideally with more background as to how both have arisen. I am reinstating the name 'Shell Island' as an alternative since the Ordnance Survey - a reputable authority so far as providing a reference goes - include 'Shell island' in brackets after 'Mochras'. Agreed, the replacing of historic Welsh names with new "easier" ones is obviously a controversial subject. However, the article should definitely include the new name for the reasons you've outlined.

On the "not an island" point, I would guess this is a mistranslation of the Welsh Ynys, which is most commonly translated as island but can also mean (more pertinently here) a peninsula or spur of land into the water.
