I suggest reference to the "parish church" is somewhat misleading. While Mochdre is certainly now in Llangystennin ecclesiastical parish, this has only been the case since the 1930s. Before that, it was in Llandrillo-yn-Rhos ecclesiastical parish and civil parish - see parish records in Denbighshire & Conwy Record Offices & relevant OS maps. It also has its own church that acts as a chapel-of-ease for Mochdre inhabitants. The parishioners petitioned the bishop for a change of parish in the 1930s.
I suggest that rather than being famous for the church, Mochdre is much more famous as the site of one of the major "battles" in the Tithe Wars on 16 June 1887, - see, for example, Norman Tucker, Colwyn Bay: its origin and growth (Colwyn Bay Borough Council, Colwyn Bay, 1953, pp. 176-179). While the info on the parish is technically correct, I think the Tithe War is more appropriate if we're talking "famous".--MarquisOfMochdre 12:31, 15 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
