Miya Muqi → Mu Qimiya – [1]Her surname is Mu (not Muqi) and her given name is Qimiya (not Miya), so her name is Mu Qimiya or Qimiya Mu. --61.218.132.47 (talk) 13:55, 13 December 2020 (UTC)

Some references in Bengali ([13] "মু কিমিয়া", there is a space after "মু") and Korean ([14][15][16][17][18][19] "무치미야", no space inside the name). --61.218.132.47 (talk) 10:04, 14 December 2020 (UTC)
- Support Chinese-language WP:RS explicitly state that her surname is Mu and not Muqi [20][21]. Per WP:COMMONNAME,
inaccurate names for the article subject, as determined in reliable sources, are often avoided even though they may be more frequently used by reliable sources ... When there are multiple names for a subject, all of which are fairly common, and the most common has problems, it is perfectly reasonable to choose one of the others.
. 61.239.39.90 (talk) 02:08, 14 December 2020 (UTC)- Comment as of now, I'm getting 1270 Google News hits for "Mu Qimiya" [22] and 367 for "Miya Muqi" [23], so the proposed title appears to meet plain old WP:COMMONAME even without the caveat about inaccurate names. And clearly a WP:RS in any language, which explicitly states what a person's surname is, is relevant to the question of whether a romanisation of that person's name is accurate or not. 61.239.39.90 (talk) 04:26, 21 December 2020 (UTC)
- That's progress, but both of the links you give are broken. So maybe you're counting non-English ghits? As for your claim clearly a WP:RS in any language, which explicitly states what a person's surname is, is relevant to the question of whether a romanisation of that person's name is accurate or not, perhaps, but not relevant to this discussion, see wp:correct. I may even add that claim to that page as an excellent example! So no change of !vote. Andrewa (talk) 06:47, 21 December 2020 (UTC)

- Opposed WP:COMMONNAME. All of the existing sourcing, even the ELs, use Miya Muqi. Her own official Instagram is Miyamuqi_Official. Her full name should be noted in the prose, but her common name is clearly the shortened stage name Miya Muqi. The source blob above pertained to a single movie, where she was credited under her birth name, but I do not believe that to be COMMONNAME yet. -- ferret (talk) 13:42, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
- Oppose. Chinese-language RS are not relevant. There seem to be no problems with the current name, so there is no reason to depart from the common name here. Andrewa (talk) 20:10, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
