US market
[edit]This article fails to mentioned the U.S. market, while it almost exclusively covers Australia. Gerdbrendel 21:28, 18 January 2006 (UTC)
- It also fails to mention its home market of Japan. The Diamante is not a rebadged Magna, in fact, it's the other way around - the Magna is a rebadged and slightly modified version of the Diamante. The car was also sold briefly in Europe, although I have yet to ascertain the correct years. Pc13 00:49, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
EPA classification
[edit]The EPA considered the Diamante ALWAYS as a midsize car. -- Bull-Doser 22:28, 9 September 2006 (UTC)
Corrections Needed
[edit]This page is full of errors (has been noted with the mid-importance rating) including listing models such as the 25V, 25E, 30R, 30R-SE as 'first generation' Diamantes when in fact they are second generation:
First Gen - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Early_Diamante.jpg (note references to their release in '96? Second gen was launched in Japan / Australasia in '95 so maybe thats a US thing?)
Second Gen - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2nd-Mitsubishi-Diamante.jpg accurately shows a second generation Diamante (1995 release) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:04-Mitsubishi-Diamante.jpg < released '04 - very different front and rear, in Japan they used the new 'MIVEC' 3.5l engine as standard.
Note that really there should be a note regarding an 'upgrade' to the Diamante around 97-98 the cars were re-released with GDI engines and some cosmetic changes including slightly different headlights, different taillights ,etc - and new model names such as 'SE-V','SE-R','SE-I','SE-G' instead of '25V','30R' etc. Useful reference -> http://media.mitsubishi-motors.com/pressrelease/e/products/detail486.html -- Jacob.odell (talk) 07:24, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
- There seems to be some confusion on the specifications of the second generation 3L model, in which it states that a 201kW model was offered and then a 180kW model. Does anyone know the specific year this change was introduced? — Preceding unsigned comment added by QCD123 (talk • contribs) 00:01, 11 October 2012 (UTC)
