Parish or Parrish?
[edit]Many reputable sites and databases list him as Mitchell Parrish in addition to Mitchell Parish. Parish seems to have the preponderance but I'd love some authority, preferably one that actually addresses the question of his name's spelling rather than just (possibly) repeating a typo. 76.22.20.146 (talk) 17:15, 19 June 2008 (UTC)
- It was absolutely Parish. Parish often refused to open mail that spelled his name with two r's. You may verify the spelling in the ASCAP Biographical Directory or in the biographical article about him in the Dictionary of Literary Biography, Vol. 265. Parish's surviving children are both quoted in the article. The story about him refusing invitations with his name spelled wrong is also in the article.Bellczar (talk) 04:37, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
