Phoenix Club

[edit]

Is the Phoenix club really the second oldest club? It seems unlikely according to the date cited on their own website. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.140.56.38 (talk) 20:14, 25 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Burn Bullock

[edit]

The next door pub the Burn Bullock - The only mention I could see easily from Flickr. Quote. The pub is named after the Surrey and Mitcham cricket player Burn Bullock. After retiring from County Cricket and working for the Mitcham Cricket Club he was responsible for bringing many famous teams to play on the green. He was landlord of the Kings Arms from 1941 to 1954. A meeting of Cricket umpires here in 1953 led to the formation of the Cricket Umpires Association. It was renamed the Burn Bullock in 1975. Unquote. See http://www.flickr.com/photos/sarflondondunc/2376075275/ Worth a mention? BeckenhamBear (talk) 07:25, 16 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]
