A wide variety of sources acknowledge that the lineage of the Missouri Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Association is uncertain. Two conferences, the Big Eight Conference and the Missouri Valley Conference, claimed to be the original descendent of this conference. Given the facts that the name alone would seem to indicate that the latter has the better claim, combined with the fact that the Big Eight is no longer even extant, I would feel well-justified in changing this redirect to go to the current MVC. However, in the spirit of Wikipedia compromise, I will instead turn it into a dab page, connecting to both conferences. 76.106.149.108 (talk) 16:05, 28 July 2012 (UTC)

Founding Date

I have a hammer throw medal earned by my great uncle . It reads "Hammer Throw - MVIAA - St Joseph Mo - May 5, 1900". Could the founding be 1900 or earlier vice the 1907 date in the article. My uncle attended the University of Nebraska, 63.153.77.118 (talk) 21:36, 21 February 2023 (UTC)
