The result of the move request was: page moved. Armbrust The Homunculus 10:21, 17 May 2014 (UTC)
- Missouri Southern State Lions → Missouri Southern Lions
- Missouri Southern State Lions football → Missouri Southern Lions football
– The short-hand name of Missouri Southern State University for athletics is generally "Missouri Southern", omitting "State". On the university athletics web page, the mailing address begins with "Missouri Southern Athletics", and the university logo on the top right corner of the page emphasizes "Missouri Southern" with a larger font than "State University". Press releases, this one for instance, refer to the school as "Missouri Southern". Arbor to SJ (talk) 04:56, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
- I don't support the move because when I first started out with the article "Missouri Southern Lions", but on this edit, I was told that when "State" is in the School's name, it also needs to be on the athletics page. Corkythehornetfan(talk) 11:45, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
- Well, the article about Bowling Green State University athletics is called Bowling Green Falcons, because the university drops "State" for athletics purposes the same way MSSU does. Arbor to SJ (talk) 05:19, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- Alright, I'll SUPPORT the move now. CorkythehornetfanTalk 15:44, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

- Sounds reasonable. This isn't like ULL where dropping the word sacrifices WP:PRECISION. Support as per WP:PRECISE and WP:CONCISE Red Slash 04:00, 12 May 2014 (UTC)
