Grabbing this for review. I remember watching the film at school, but I haven't even read this article yet. I'll give it a look through and see if anything needs to be done. - adamstom97 (talk) 04:36, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, so I've read through the article, and it's great. Really well done. I have a couple of minor things, and one reasonably major thing, and then it'll probably be good to go for GA.

  • The principal photography section starts by saying the start and end dates for filming, and ends by repeating the end dates. This feels a bit redundant when you are reading through the article. I think it would be better to state the start date and budget, then list all the filming information, and then state the end date at the bottom of the section only.
  • The images and quote boxes should alternate sides of the article, so they aren't all just along the left hand side.
  • The opening prose under the reception section should really be in its own 'Controversy' subsection, probably between the critic and litigation sections.

As for the bigger issue, the references could do with a bit of work. Can you go through them and make sure they are all fully cited, and especially add archives for the web sources. But like I said, this really is a very good article. Well done. - adamstom97 (talk) 09:13, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Okay, you seem to have sorted that out, and it is definitely a great article, so I'm happy to promote it now. Passed - adamstom97 (talk) 23:56, 13 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Missing information

[edit]

Information about the historical accuracy of the film is missing. The historical accuracy of the film generated the greatest critique about the film. Critiques by activists that participated in the civil rights movement and particularly within Mississippi has been supplied in the article. A section that presents an analysis by academics needs to be in the article as well. Mitchumch (talk) 13:31, 27 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Inspiration for hate crime

[edit]

The hate crime inspired by the film involving several black teenagers and the supreme court ruling ( Mitchell v. Wisconsin ) ruling related to it might be interesting to note. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.59.109.178 (talk) 10:46, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
