Source about this being Cruise's last M:I movie

The sources linked seems very sketchy to me. It seems to be an unreputable source with spelling errors, personal opinions of the author, and a vague reference to the "source" from whom this rumour came. Is this really the best source we have for this claim, because if so it should be removed immediately from the wiki article. Now that the title of this movie has been revealed, it's safe to say that this is probably Tom Cruise's final time playing Ethan Hunt. So thus, I think there should be a "final installment" label for this movie. Mattgelo (talk) 14:39, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

About the filming process being wrapped

I don't think that link or topic is accurate as it suggests filming wrapped only in the UK and not in total. McQuarrie only stated before the year's end in late 2022 that he still had two more large action sequences to film and made a post on his Instagram page that they had finished filming a sequence in South Africa, wished all of the crew involved a happy new year and that filming was to continue "on the other side" of the new year. why are we calling this "Untitled eighth Mission: Impossible film", the previous title has "Part One" in the name, the end screen of the film says "End Part One", and articles cited here call the sequel part two. @Jonas1015119 Because there are sources mentioning that the subtitle has been dropped:

Variety: "Mission: Impossible" will arrive on the big screen with a new name. Paramount and Skydance are dropping the second half of its title, formerly "Dead Reckoning Part Two," though the sequel will directly follow the events of 2023’s "Dead Reckoning Part One." (used in this article)

Entertainment Weekly: Previously titled Mission: Impossible — Dead Reckoning Part Two, Paramount has stripped the film of its ungainly subtitle, though it will still serve as a direct sequel to this year's Dead Reckoning Part One.

(It seems like any outlets that published their article before Variety (e.g. THR, The Wrap) wrote the name change as speculation, and any outlets that published after that wrote the change as confirmed (e.g. EW, Motion Pictures Association))

Technically speaking, it is a sequel of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (and it is noted in the first paragraph). Filming after the conclusion of the SAG-AFTRA strike

Source for runtime?

The infobox states the runtime as 177 minutes, is there a source that confirms this? I can’t find any, and besides it seems very early for it to be available already. Obviously if there’s no credible source it should be removed. Dave Lars (talk) 14:14, 11 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
