Lexie Brockway?

[edit]

The article currently states that 1973 winner Marjorie "Marji" Wallace was replaced by "Lexie Brockway". The section on Wallace's page about the loss of her title, does not mention Brockway as replacing her. In fact, nowhere else in the United States representatives at Miss World article does it mention Brockway at all. I did find a page on the internet that says, "She went on to become Miss World USA". Something's not adding up here. Which year? And what about Patsy Yuen whose mentioned as taking over the Miss World duties (although not the title)? Jason Quinn (talk) 06:43, 2 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Miss Michigan World 2019 and hijab

[edit]

Reading through various sources, I can't find anything that indicates that Miss Zhu was stripped of her title because she refused to try on a hijab. Everything seems to say that it was for comments she posted on a social media site. These comments included her presentation of an incident where she declined to try on a hijab, including some political views she said she voiced when declining to don the item. Even though our article does not say that she was stripped of her title because she refused to don a hijab (at an activist booth), a reader can easily get that impression from our sentence. I suggest it be re-worded. Kdammers (talk) 16:00, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Under Shree Saini, under hometown, change "Moses Lake" to "Seattle." Joshuaehennessy (talk) 22:30, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pinging User:Bri who added this information to the Shree Saini article. I can't access the cited source from that article as it's paywalled. That said, "hometown" is fairly vague. Is there a published source from the pageant that gives information either way? ‑‑ElHef (Meep?) 22:42, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Reliable sources (regional newspapers) have said both Moses Lake and Ellensburg. Her parents own a truck stop on I-90 in George, Washington, the next town due west of Moses Lake; you can see the "Shree's" sign from about a mile away. I'm doubtful of Seattle, it's probably something the pageants said to reference a better known locality. As far as any reliable source I’m aware of has stated, she was only a university student in Seattle for a short time, not enough for "hometown". Check this source used in her bio for confirmation: [1]Bri (talk) 23:34, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
By the way, Washington is rather a large state. The error in stating hometown "Seattle" vice "Moses Lake" is about the same as "Baltimore" instead of "New York". ☆ Bri (talk) 23:42, 30 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Remove "Top 10 at Miss World America 2020." under Shree Saini in the Miss World America Titleholders table. Joshuaehennessy (talk) 02:22, 27 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: please provide reliable sources that support the change you want to be made. Per Miss_World_America_2020, it appears to be correctly sourced. --Hemanthah (talk) 03:43, 28 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hard to believe there are zero sources for titleholders

[edit]

Can at least one source be added? As it stands, the entire titleholders table is liable to be deleted under WP:V policy. Especially considering a new entry was made just today. ☆ Bri (talk) 17:05, 18 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
