[edit]Who was that Cecile Lartique, who participated in Miss Europa International 1986, in Malta? She became the 2nd there. Was she Miss France World, or Miss France Universe, or something else?
Image copyright problem with Image:LindaHardy.jpg
[edit]The image Image:LindaHardy.jpg is used in this article under a claim of fair use, but it does not have an adequate explanation for why it meets the requirements for such images when used here. In particular, for each page the image is used on, it must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Please check
- That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for the use in this article.
- That this article is linked to from the image description page.
This is an automated notice by FairuseBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. --03:09, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
- The image has been removed from this article. To whoever added the image please review Wikipedia's image use rules and don't do this sort of thing, otherwise an image created in good faith for legitimate use in another article (as was the case with this image) may be lost. 23skidoo (talk) 17:53, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Use of images
[edit]Further to the above unauthorized use of the image of Linda Hardy, I would advise anyone who is "nurse maiding" this article to ensure the remaining images are compliant with Wikipedia's Fair Use and Image Use policies, otherwise these images may also be removed. I'm particularly concerned that the image of Linda Hardy, which I uploaded 3 years ago in order to illustrate an article about a movie, which was an acceptable use, was used improperly which resulted in it being flagged by a bot and nearly deleted, which would have damage the film article. 23skidoo (talk) 18:03, 19 September 2008 (UTC)
Extensive rewrite
[edit]I have attempted to upgrade this page to meet Wikipedia standards for citations and neutral point of view. This is especially true of the section on the Miss France War, which seems to generate strong feelings among those involved.
I would be interested in learning more about the entrants for Miss World and Miss Universe in the early years. They do not seem to be from the de Fontenay committee. I cannot find records of winners from the Rinaldo committee, so perhaps some of them came from that. They did not come from the Raibault committee, which never sent a contestant to either global contest.
I would also be interested to know how the 1982 and 1986 contestants in the global contests came about (the 1986 entrant was apparently Miss France Outre-Mer, but what happened to the "real" Miss France?). Also, there are some vague references to an "alternate committee" (presumably the Rinaldo committee) choosing the Miss Universe entrant for 2003, but I cannot find any documentation of that. A separate article on Emmanuelle Chossat might be worth doing -- the only person to have entered Miss World and Miss Universe representing France in different years, yet never won the de Fontenay Miss France contest!
