Largely Rewritten and expanded
[edit]Hopefully readers will be happier with the revised version
Sidebar Data
[edit]I've replaced the sidebar with one that actually works. The old one kept giving errors and such. There are a lot of blank fields left so feel free to contribute if you'd like. --Son0rouS 23:20, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
History of Towns
[edit]Removed - readers are now referred to separate pages for the founding communities.
Tourism
[edit]I added a section on tourism and left a bunch of blank headlines. Feel free to help me out and add anything you want.
That's quite the motto
[edit]While the presence of the CFC may in fact qualify Miramichi as "The Arse Hole of Canada," I seriously doubt that they've adopted it as their official motto. Fixed that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grugnir (talk • contribs) 17:54, 17 May 2011 (UTC)
Requested move

The result of the move request was: page moved. Vegaswikian (talk) 01:46, 27 August 2011 (UTC)
Miramichi (city) → Miramichi, New Brunswick – The move to the current title was a poor one, and should be reverted. WP:NCGN notes that Canadian cities should be disambiguated by using the province. All the rivers and valleys and lakes and bays are already disambiguated by their names. StAnselm (talk) 11:28, 20 August 2011 (UTC)
- Support per WP:CANSTYLE. Jenks24 (talk) 12:15, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
- Support per WP:NCGN and WP:D. Such article titles for cities and settlements should use the comma format, with the disambiguating term being the name of the higher-level administrative division (like Windsor, Berkshire and Phoenix, Arizona). The current title, with "city" in parentheses, is generally not used in this type of case. Zzyzx11 (talk) 16:21, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
- I also disagree with the reason made that the "rver and valley also in N.B., so disambiguate 'New Brunswick' ineffective".[1] In many countries, including Canada, the comma convention is commonly used to denote place names, especially if mailing addresses require both the city name and the province name. Even doing a quick Google search, I found this article from the CBC with the headline Harper pledges 550 new jobs in Miramichi, N.B.. So I don't understand how "Miramichi, New Brunswick" would be confusing to people specifically searching for the city or the other "Miramichi" articles. Zzyzx11 (talk) 16:47, 21 August 2011 (UTC)
- Support. I think the article was fine where it was previous to the recent move. It conforms to the style guide for place names in Canada and is undoubtedly the most common form of the name apart from "Miramichi" alone, which is not an option. Good Ol’factory (talk) 03:34, 22 August 2011 (UTC)

Pronunciation?
[edit]Please someone add information on how that name is spoken to the article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2003:45:4901:B094:8428:F0CA:69AD:9255 (talk) 19:13, 16 January 2014 (UTC)
- I added the pronunciation needed tag to the article. - BalthCat (talk) 21:29, 26 September 2014 (UTC)
