Hello, could you please update this stub with the below sections? Thanks, Pplc (talk) 15:16, 6 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

History

[edit]

Mirabaud et Cie was founded in 1819 and is one of the oldest banks in Switzerland.[1][2] Family-owned and operated, the bank has played a key part in the construction and development of the Swiss financial system, helping co-found the Geneva Stock Exchange in 1857.[3][4]

In 1973, it pioneered the development of Swiss hedge funds.[5]. By 1979, Mirabaud had opened its first foreign bureau in the Bahamas. Another foreign bureau then followed in 1985 in Montréal. The first Asian office was opened in Hong Kong in 1997 and one year later, the bank reinforced its presence in Switzerland by opening its first subsidiary in Zurich.[3]

Mirabaud Asset Management was created in 2001, and, from 2003, the group continued to solidify its presence in the EU, Switzerland, and the Middle East. Over the next seven years, the banks opened new offices in Paris, Dubai, and Spain. Private bank Jennie & Cie (Basel) and Venture Finanzas (Spain) were both absorbed into the Group in 2008 and 2010, respectively.[6][7]

In 2015, the Group announced the acquisition of two further banking licenses in Spain and France.[3]

Corporate structure

[edit]

The Group officially became a corporate partnership in 2014.[8] Mirabaud’s headquarters are located in Geneva, Switzerland, but the Group has offices around the world. These include subsidiaries in Switzerland, the United Kingdom, Spain, Canada, Hong Kong, and Dubai amongst others.[9] The Group concentrates on three main divisions: wealth management, asset management, and trading and corporate finance.

Sponsorship

[edit]

Mirabaud is the main sponsor of the Bol d’Or Mirabaud – the longest fresh water sailboat regatta in Europe that is held annually on Lake Geneva.[10]
