I think it is rather important that the case Min was involved in ended with "the court ruled unanimously that the government did have the authority to restrict the lives of civilian citizens during wartime." Before this case, there was no precedent of the government restricting (non guilty) civilians during wartime. Vectorjohn 06:08, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

GA Review

[edit]

I am inches from passing this, but I have a couple overy minor points which should not hold up this nomination too long.

  1. Is there a picture avaliable of Yasui? It seems a shame not to depict him if it is possible?
  2. "Yasui returned to Hood River after leaving Chicago after his father requested Min to report for military duty" is a little unclear. Firstly he should not be refered to as "Min" and secondly the sentance seems to be trying to say that his father wished him to join up and serve in the US Army, but it doesn't make it clear. It should be rephrased to take this into account.

Thats all, the article presents his life in an informative and interesting way, is well written and well sourced. I would suggest that this isn't really a military history article at all, rather a legal one. Can you express an opinion on this? Either way, well done and this should be a GA by the end of the day.--Jackyd101 (talk) 12:24, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the review. I looked and looked for a free picture, but there are not any that I could find (I hate trying to do fair use). I'll look again though and try to figure out the copyright to a book that is published on one of the National Parks sites. I'll re-word the military duty bit to make it clear. As to legal/military I think it fits into both. It was listed at GA under the war and military section since that includes legal issues, and this is more of a legal issue related to war than anything else. Without a war going on this never would have happened, but as to cataegorization for after it passes GA, legal would probably be a better fit. Aboutmovies (talk) 17:04, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
FYI, I just rewrote the sentence from a grammar perspective, but I don't think it changes the meaning... Katr67 (talk) 17:21, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
OK, image located, added, and the sentence should now be more clear. Aboutmovies (talk) 18:35, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Great, looks good. I'm especially pleased by the addition of a picture, its a nice thing to have in any biography article and I've even seen articles in good shape fail without one. Nice work, well done.--Jackyd101 (talk) 20:59, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
