This article reads like someone's B- college essay. I have started to clean it up, primarily by breaking up the LONG paragraphs into smaller, more concentrated paragraphs. Part of the problem is that no pages link to this one. I have created a link on the "History of Romania" page to it, but there are many more pages that need to be backward linked here, so that this article can get the attention it so badly needs. I only hit it by accident (Random Article) and noticed the "Cleanup, Sep 2005" tag.

It also needs a lot of syntax work. Many of the sentances are overly convoluted.

Another problem: very few nouns are links to other Wikipedia articles.

No references, although occasionally in the text there was mention of "see link below." It should be re-referenced according to the Wikipedia standard.

Another possibility: is this article necessary? Sir Isaac Lime

As the tag says, this article needs a lot of cleanup. It is not encyclopedic at all.

I have moved the article to Talk:Minorities of Romania/temp. I will be putting the encyclopedic facts from there into the article. TheMule 06:58, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Demographics of Romania can be merged in as well. TheMule 07:03, 21 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The map

[edit]

Wait, why aren't Hungarians on the map? Are they not considered a minority? —Khoikhoi 08:03, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know... they don't receive a free seat in the parliament like the other 18 minorities... Anyway, this map is made to show those minorities that have little chance to show up in a normal ethnic map, because their low concentration (if you look on the map, most areas have under 20% minority population). If i would had put on this map the hungarian population (and the gypsy one), it would have got much more complicated (even in this map, of the minorities with under 100.000 members, i had to have some striped areas). If you want a map with the hungarian minority, there's one at county level (the one in this article is at municipality level) in the Hungarian minority in Romania article:

They didn't? That seems kinda strange considering they're the largest minority. I understand your reasons, anyways. Besides that, nice work on the map, it looks really good. I've added the other map you mentioned. —Khoikhoi 08:52, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
That's exactly because they're the largest minority. They get seats in the parliament by normal electoral system (currently they have 32 seats). Anonimu 08:59, 17 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
