Re-entered deleted information regarding which lenses were available as standard for the Minolta SR-T 101, information of great interest to the collector, prospective second-hand buyer, as well as being useful in reference to the camera specifications.

The relevant information regarding selecting a battery is also re-entered. There is no need to do any more elaborate modifications to make this camera functional, although the multitude of alternatives is technically valid and quite interesting. However, from a collectors point of view, internal alterations is not advisable.

It is relevant to point out that the zinc-air battery cost only 50cents and last several months with the highest capacity of any available alternative and that no recalibration is needed. The only drawback is the fact that once activated they do run down whether used or not in less than a year, possibly only lasting a few month.

Rather than have List of Minolta products try to have seperate pages for all the SR-T models, I think this page should be renamed to just Minolta SR-T. All the models are very similar and sites like The Rokkor Files list them all together. With seperate pages for each model, probably 70% of the text would be identical. Reply: This is a principal issue relevant to a wide range of articles.

Wikipedia is a live source of information enabling links to pages for further reading. Each subject or group of subjects may be arranged or dealt with as the Wikipedia community at any time fancy. However, it seems that dealing with each principal subject in detail is the most effective way to present pertinent research information in an uncluttered and straightforward manner. The overall view might be favourably dealt with as a separate entry where the similarities and/or differences may be presented in an orderly fashion, usually aided by tables, while providing links to in depth articles where appropriate. This seems to satisfy the need for an orderly and easily accessible overview, while at the same time provide fast access to further reading as desired at any time.

This is the strength of the Wikipedia; it provides easy access to general information with links to detailed study if needed. The reader decides to what depth to study at any time. Hence, the articles should facilitate easy access. The titles of entries would therefore preferably correspond to actual existing subjects in order to be easily found, like "Minolta SR-T 101" or the "Minolta SR-T 101 family", each dealing with the relevant information - the former presenting the actual model including minor production variations, the latter explaining the various features found on a wider range of models encompassing an era.

Early company SLR history: The Minolta range of 35mm SLR cameras was introduced in 1958 by Chiyoda Kogaku launching the Minolta SR-2. Kazuo Tashima (1899–1985) established the company in 1928 to produce cameras, but soon it expanded into optical manufacturing, eventually becoming one of very few camera companies manufacturing lenses using blanks from their own glass works, culminating by producing lenses for Ernst Leitz, Wetzlar.
