Writing and coverage

[edit]

Lead:

  • with additional office space on Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis, Minnesota. It occupies the bottom three floors of the 33 South Sixth office building - shouldn't "additional office space on Nicollet Mall" be mentioned after the 33 South Sixth sentence?
reworded
  • The shape of the mall - what is the shape of the mall? Do you mean that the mall is built around the restaurant?
done – I hope you do not mind but I prefer your wording to mine so I changed it as so.
  • Minneapolis City Center is currently anchored by Marshalls and Saks Off Fifth Avenue. One other anchor space sits vacant. - as of when?
added "As of 2020"
  • Might want to include when the mall opened within the lead.
done

Rest of page:

  • Minneapolis City Center first opened in 1983 in between the 6th and 7th Street blocks along Minneapolis' Nicollet Mall stretch - this sentence has a couple problems. I get what this is trying to say, but is it necessary to say "in between"? I feel like "between the 6th and 7th Street blocks" would be better. Also, is the word "stretch" necessary?
changed accordingly – I added "stretch" because I feel some readers unfamiliar with Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis might confuse it as an actual shopping mall, rather it is just a stretch of road open strictly for bus service
  • Construction of the mall was estimated to cost US$37 million inflation?
added "As of 2019"
  • such as Limited Express, Musicland, and more - you don't need "and more" since you have "such as". It's fine to say "such as Limited Express and Musicland".
done
  • Do Limited Express and Musicland have links?
I linked both stores to their corresponding articles on Wikipedia, did you mean anything else by this?
  • $15 million USD - "US$15 million" for consistency.
done
  • Less than a year later, the location closed in addition to 140 other locations nationwide. - rather than "in addition to", I suggest "along with" or "as part of the closure of", to make it clear that this is a chain-wide event.
done
  • Other tenants leasing space at Minneapolis City Center throughout the decade include - should it be "included"?
I think "include" is the better option since all of the mentioned stores are still in business as of this year.
  • but shuttered all locations in 2017 - any reason why?
I added the reason provided by the article.
  • Minneapolis City Center features elements of modern and brutalist architecture. - what are these elements?
done – added some.
  • Minneapolis City Center also serves as a major hub for the Minneapolis Skyway System, serving as a connecting point for six skyways - "serve" is repeated. Probably best to replace one of these mentions.
  • Is there any positive criticism of these designs?
From what I researched I cannot say I gathered any positive reception for the center.
  • a record-breaking sale in Minnesota. - how so?
reworded – I explained what record in broke.

That's all the prose comments I have for now. epicgenius (talk) 15:23, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Prisencolin – Thanks for raising this point. Through my research I have not found an article/news release that announces an estimated completion date. I did, however, find a source that states the mall was about to announce new retailers, but I doubt any of those things will occur anytime soon now. Preferably, reference 3 should have dashes in between the ISBN, but that is optional. epicgenius (talk) 15:24, 4 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
