[edit]

Fixed up the formating abit (cut and pasting from other articles) modified slightly some of the content will be making more additions in the near future.NatDinoMus 24/01/06

I fixed up some things, such as repeating in the text & un needed paragraph headings. See Ammosaurus, an article of mine for an example of descriptive, but good dinosaur writing... Spawn Man 00:33, 3 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ankylosaurid status for Minmi

[edit]

A cladistic analysis done by Hill et. al. (2003) unexpectedly nests Minmi within Ankylosauridae. For this reason, transfer Minmi to Ankylosauridae.

Hill, R. V., Witmer, L. M. & Norell, M. A., 2003: A New Specimen of Pinacosaurus grangeri (Dinosauria: Ornithischia) from the Late Cretaceous of Mongolia: Ontogeny and Phylogeny of Ankylosaurs. American Museum Novitates: 3395, pp. 1-29.

Diet (refactored)

[edit]

I believe the article requires a reference proving that there are animals out there that habitually eat horsetails. Last I heard, animals try to avoid them because they are full of silica that wears out the animals' teeth. Seeing something with relatively weak teeth, like Minmi, eating something that tough seems quite far-fetched. 70.212.250.193 (talk) 02:52, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

We can do better than that. We've got decent gut contents from this guy (although too tiny of fragments to really tell what kind of plants it was eating). See update. J. Spencer (talk) 03:42, 9 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Arithmetic...

[edit]

2 metres = ten feet? I think not... Also, body length or including tail? Macdonald-ross (talk) 18:17, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It was a typo from somewhere along the line. As far as I know, dinosaur lengths always include the tail, but frankly are problematic because it's rare for someone to state how they dealt with the curves of the vertebral column. J. Spencer (talk) 21:37, 24 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name change

[edit]

Because this article specifically talks about the genus and not just the one and only species of this particular genus, the fact there are other articles with the name Minmi in them, and that Wikipedia is a mainstream encyclopedia, I suggest this article should be renamed Minmi (dinosaur) and not just a redirecting title.Gabeluna27 (talk) 00:58, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

There are Wikiepdia wide naming conventions governing the way to do this, so we can't just change it in a single article. FunkMonk (talk) 01:02, 8 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
