name changes

[edit]

This Ministry has changed name again. Ministry for Social Development and Social Innovation was in charge of Income Assistance (aka welfare or B.C. Employment and Assistance) and Disability Assistance (see archive.org's Wayback archive of the gov.bc.ca reference used in this article. {archive.org seems to be having problems, backup archive of that gov.bc.ca page at http archive.is (slash) 6utlO }

The BC ministry in charge of Income Assistance and Disability Assistance is now named Ministry of Social Development & Poverty Reduction (see http://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/governments/organizational-structure/ministries-organizations/ministries/social-development-poverty-reduction ) I don't see any media commenting on name change. Highest profile website i can find that mentions the name change is https://askanadvocate.ca/ministry-name-change/

This ministry has other names in the past (perhaps more than four), but I'll have to see if I can find any newspaper clippings to tell me the old names. (will take some time) --EarthFurst (talk) 16:35, 22 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

These name changes aren't usually published in newspapers but are in budget bills or assignments from the Premier during the selection of cabinet. The first mention of the Ministry of Social Development and Poverty Reduction is here and I don't see a mention of a 'name change' other than that's just the ministerial portfolio.
