Useless links, broken links...argh!

I came here trying to find out how long a Minion was - and what kind of carriage it would use in a seafaring setting. The article contains no such useful details...so I started to look up the references. Sadly, some were broken links, other contain no relevant information whatever - and others don't come close to being Reliable Sources for a Wikipedia article. We urgently need some decent references for the article.

(I'd offer to help with finding them - except that I came here to FIND OUT information...not to provide it!)
