This article is outdated needs an update.
Okay for starters you guys have to update the "Latest release" because thats outdated like hecka outdated the newest release was the Nether Update. Also don't forget that the new caves and cliffs update is coming out this summer so just keep your eyes out and the 2nd part will release later this year during fall or winter. Also for platforms add the PS5 because you can play minecraft on it just with a PS4 disk. DJWills (talk) 15:12, 4 May 2021 (UTC)

This article is about the entire franchise of Minecraft (Story Mode, Dungeons, Earth), not just the homonymous game; that's why the current updates for the original game are not included in this article. Sr. Knowthing ¿señor? 15:51, 4 May 2021 (UTC)
Minecraft film
Is there any reason why we're keeping this here? It appears to be straight up cancelled as we haven't received a new release date or any more info on it. However we also haven't received any info saying that it is cancelled. Do we even have any more info pertaining to the film? Blaze The Wolf | Proud Furry and Wikipedia Editor (talk) 19:06, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- Because it has been reported on by reliable secondary sources. Certainly a film was planned and in early development. We wouldn't throw that out just because it's cancelled. That might apply to an article about the film itself, but this is for the overall franchise and we mention such developments. -- ferret (talk) 19:09, 19 August 2021 (UTC)
- Ah ok. That makes sense. I remember hearing about it a while back and then nothing. It's kinda like it's been forgotten. Blaze The Wolf | Proud Furry and Wikipedia Editor (talk) 19:17, 19 August 2021 (UTC)

Steve Amiibo
In the merchandise section, there is a mention of a steve amiibo being potentially made. The amiibo now has a listed release date and page on the nintendo uk website [1] --Matt5692 (talk) 02:38, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
- To me the "release date" is just 2022. SWinxy (talk) 04:25, 28 March 2022 (UTC)
Addition of an Accolades/Awards section
I feel that the addition of an awards section to highlight some of the many accomplishments that the Minecraft franchise have achieved. Such as the best selling game of all time, the novel series being added to New York Times Children's Series Bestsellers, and the 1 trillion views on YouTube. I'm referencing mainly from xbox facts. --Lucas Flom (talk) 02:30, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- I chopped off a chunk of what you added. I kept the 1T views because I was easily able to find a Verge article one it. List_of_best-selling_video_games uses the 'fact sheet', so I guess that's okay, but I don't feel comfortable using it for the best-sellers list. SWinxy (talk) 03:45, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
- It is mentioned on most of the book covers that they are New York Time's best sellers but here is another link to the New York Times listing the books in some of the weeks that they were up for The Island and The Crash as well as for The Mountain--Lucas Flom. If that is good enough source to add them back onto the page. (talk) 16:57, 31 March 2022 (UTC)
Merchandise sales graph
I noticed that the graph of merchandise sales in the Merchandise section was a bit outdated as it only has information up to 2018. --Matt5692 (talk) 03:04, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
- I have actually created a graph to as up to date as I can up to 2020 as that was the most recent year I could find. I could try swapping it out if people think that's a good idea. Lucas Flom (talk) 03:09, 30 March 2022 (UTC)

In the Minecraft Live section, please add "The third Minecraft Live took place on 15 October 2022 and featured an in-game mob vote, unlike previous years, with the options consisting of the Sniffer, the Rascal, and the Tuff Golem, the first of which won the vote.[1] It also announced some basic features for the next update, 1.20, including camels, bamboo wood, and hanging signs. It also announced the basic gameplay for the upcoming game Minecraft Legends and the Season 3 update for Minecraft Dungeons.[2] 99.209.40.250 (talk) 14:21, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

About the upcoming theatrical film
Since now, there have been no updates on the upcoming theatrical film. Did any of the news articles say that there are new writers, filming dates or a new theatrical release date? 99.209.40.250 (talk) 18:55, 8 December 2022 (UTC)
Minecraft film (3)
I could see we received updates by The Hollywood Reporter about the Minecraft film, stating that Jared Hess is now directing and Jason Momoa is set to star. However, we didn't receive any updates after that; Deadline stated that Chris Bowman and Hubbel Palmer were tapped to work on a new script, though it was not confirmed by Warner Bros. Pictures. Is the film still possible? If there are new relevant updates on the film, please provide reliable sources that support the updates. 216.154.15.205 (talk) 20:53, 12 December 2022 (UTC)
