Discography page?
[edit]I would like to discuss the splitting of McCready's discography to a new home, Mindy McCready discography. It is pretty long. At least it's bigger than Little Big Town's discography, which I personally, don't think that one needs to be split. So, join in on the discussion and help form a consesus! :) EnDaLeCoMpLeX (talk) 19:55, 16 May 2009 (UTC)
- I measured, not long enough. I've been through a similiar situation about Jason Aldean's article. His article is about the same length as this one right now. So i don't think that this article deserves to be split just yet. Wait until it's about twice, or maybe much more longer before splitting it. Ryanbstevens (talk) 02:07, 20 May 2009 (UTC)

Please remove the website address: http://www.mindymccreadyofficial.com/ (which is a Mindy fan site) and replace it with Mindy McCready's official website: http://www.mindymccready.com. This change is necessary becasue www.mindymccready.com is Mindy's official site, as it comes up first on Google and has all of her recent music and photos. Thank you.

Custody
[edit]There is no mention of her on going battle with her mother about custody of her son. Is it missing for a reason or just missing?Daffydavid (talk) 03:46, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
- Mainly because this last thing was more of a WP:RECENTISM item than something notable. No harm came to the child, she wasn't charged...it was just a custody dispute. It got a little attention which dropped off fast, another indicator of recentism. Even if we do put something in, we need to tread lightly about what is said, not just frm a BLP standpoint for her, but about her child and mother. Niteshift36 (talk) 04:08, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
- You are incorrect in your assertion that this is recent. The currently reported incident is only part of a protracted custody dispute.Daffydavid (talk) 05:30, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
- How about if you actually read what I said before telling me I am wrong? What did I say? "this last thing was more of a WP:RECENTISM item...". LAST THING. Did you see it yet? Where did I say that there was nothing previous? Where did I say there was only a single even in the whole matter? I didn't. You just started making assumptions. I know what has gone on. I live in her town. Every bit of it is in the local news. What you have failed to present is a SPECIFIC proposal for what belongs in, why it belongs in and how to word it so that we don't run afould of BLP or to provide undue intrusion on her child. "Official" site
[edit]I've protected the page to stop the edit warring for adding the spam links for the fan site: www.mindymccreadyofficial.com. Wikipedia is not a place to promote your personal fansite for your favorite celebrity (or anything, for that matter). However, it's being claimed that it is an "official" fansite endorsed by the article's subject. If someone can verify that she's officially endorsed the fansite, then personally, I wouldn't have any issues with it being listed. Although, I would still suggest that it be discussed here to get conensus among interested editors (I'm not one) before re-adding it and/or removing the current "official" site. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 05:04, 31 January 2013 (UTC)
- Here are my thoughts. Four editors - 2020accessonline, Longhorn05, 50.80.132.200, and 173.25.4.116 - are the most recent editors to change the link for McCready's official website (in the infobox and externall links) from mindymeccready.com to mindymccreadyoffical.com. I don't know how many others have done it. The two IPs are both in Carl Junction, Missouri. The four should reveal whether or not they are editing under any of the other three, or any others. Mindymcready.com is registered to Iconic Records, which is known to have been one of her record labels. Mindymcreadyofficial.com is a fansite. In fact, when you go to the site, it redirects to mindymccreadyfans.com. 2020accessonline claimed on admin Jauerback's talk page that he runs the fan website, that he's a personal friend of McCready's, and that he and McCready "maintain that page with personal interaction".[1] First, although we have no reason to doubt him, we also have no proof to verify his claims, as Jauerback has already pointed out to him. Second, even if it is true, it's still a fansite, yet these editors keep representing it as McCready's "official" website, not her official fansite. Obviously, any editors who have a personal association with McCready have a conflict of interest here; they not only need to fully reveal it, but also must appropriately limit their participation in this article, especially in situations like this where contentious content is involved. 50.80.132.200 has ignored several warnings on their talk page and in this article's edit comments, and continued to add back the fansite link. I agree with Jauerback... If someone can verify that McCready has endorsed it as her official fansite, then I would not object to it being listed. And even if we receive the proof of McCready's endorsement, the URL mindymccreadyoffical.com should never be used here because it's very misleading, which is is only further evidenced by the fact that it automatically redirects to mindymccreadyfans.com. Only mindymccreadyfans.com should be used here. Also, if we get the proof and it gets listed here, it must be made clear that it's the official fansite, not website. --76.189.111.199 (talk) 06:51, 31 January 2013 (UTC)

In the section containing the details on Mindy's death, the second time her boyfriend is mentioned, his last name is spelled Wison instead of the proper name, Wilson. 173.187.173.61 (talk) 05:47, 21 February 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Something like "Mindy McCready and The Shallows - gossip, seduction, and blackmail "

David Wilson/Celebrity Rehab 3 date inconsistencies
[edit]These can't both be true, unless I don't know of a macabre coincidence:
'In 2009, she joined the cast of "Celebrity Rehab 3" with Dr. Drew Pinsky. But Dr. Drew told Buzzfeed McCready was devastated after the January death of her boyfriend, David Wilson'
...
'record producer David Wilson, was found dead on January 13, 2013'
