Deputy PM
[edit]The position did exist and he held it. There was a discussion about this somewhere. --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 01:00, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry but it didn't exist, under the legisation that setup the Northern Ireland Government didn't even provide for the position of Prime Minister.--Padraig (talk) 01:03, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- Yes, but we can both agree the PMs existed. The Governor also appointed at DPM. Honestly! --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 01:06, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- It may, actually, have been held by whoever was Minister of Finance - not 100% on that though. --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 01:07, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- I have never seem a reference for the Deputy Prime Minster role in any book.--Padraig (talk) 01:12, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

- ...granted some of those are incorrect references to the DFM. --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 01:15, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- Maynard Sinclair held it, perhaps also pointing to the fact it was linked with the Finance Ministry? --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 01:16, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- His article dosen't mention he was, it says he was member of the privy council.--Padraig (talk) 01:30, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- It says he was Deputy PM at the time he died in that accident.--Counter-revolutionary (talk) 09:39, 11 January 2008 (UTC)

Jack Andrews, Faulkner, O'Neill and others were all Deputy Prime Ministers. For a defnintive list and article on the position it would take substantial research into newspaper archives. But it did exist.Traditional unionist (talk) 14:45, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
- I agree, it certainly did exist, even if it didn't exist, in the sense that there PM didn't exist either. --Counter-revolutionary (talk) 15:29, 11 January 2008 (UTC)
