Geopolitical games
[edit]This article really needs some context. The current riots are at heart an action by the the maoist parties in the Nepali congress who are carrying water for China. China doesn't want Nepal more closely aligned with India and the West and so it is using it's proxies and ridiculous rumors like acceptance of the compact will involve american troops on the ground (The last thing the US wants is yet another groundwar in Asia). No, it isn't. It's the public who've read the MCC compact. Even the Hindu right wing monarchist such as Rastriya Prajatantra Party are against MCC. All the right and left wings are against MCC means the Public are against them. Don't make it China vs India fake narrative. Its thw choice of people to reject the USA's geopolitical ambitions in Nepal. We dont want to be "Next Afghanistan".
