[edit]So much talent ... a quite important school ... a very good start ... Tell us much more about this place. Info box is top priority. But if you keep up the reffing and some pics and more detail then it could soon be a B Victuallers 11:30, 21 May 2007 (UTC)
moan.... but no input
[edit]It may be high-ranked, but I go there and I'm goddamn miserable in it.
You know, I graduated in '95 and I'm not surprised - I don't know why they can't foster more of a community with all the students.
notability
[edit]These alumni lists make me queasy. The standard for them cannot be lower than for Wikipedia articles in general; indeed it must be higher, since we are introducing a boast. It would be worthwhile to take as a general rule of thumb that living persons ought not to be included in these lists unless they have articles that may refer, under the rules, to the listing article. Isn't that sensible? --VKokielov (talk) 20:44, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- In other words, let's allow these lists only as back-references into biographical articles. Otherwise we are inconsistent with the rules. --VKokielov (talk) 20:46, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- For the record, I am an interested party. I am an alumnus of Millburn High School. --VKokielov (talk) 20:47, 16 December 2008 (UTC)

Lots of laundry lists and stuffed with trivia
[edit]Hi, I noticed that a while back, @GuardianH made a bold (and for my money, very necessary) edit reducing laundry lists and sports trivia. It later got reverted, but I am not sure if the revert was justified. The "championships" don't seem to be that significant, and then there are the problematic sections devoted to "Curriculum" (this is course catalog material) and "Extracurricular activities" which are clubs and such, most of which could be cut. While I know how user:Alansohn feels about this questions, I would welcome input from other editors. We need a broader selection of editorial wisdom on this one. -- Melchior2006 (talk) 13:21, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- Sourced material was restored and several reliable and verifiable references were added to deal with concerns of lack of sourcing. Now based on one user's sense that "championships" (which has been put in air quotes, with the implication that they aren't somehow real) "don't seem to be that significant", the excuse is that sports championships are "trivia", yet another round of rationalizations to delete anything and everything. There is already an RfC going on to address these issues, but Melchior2006 prefers to engage in this battle of deletionism one page at a time while this community discussion is going on, constantly refusing to respond to repeated efforts that have been made to address these issues -- legitimate or not -- on the user's talk page. The problem here is the persistent belief that the only way to address problems is to delete content, failing to comply with WP:PRESERVE while pointing to irrelevant essays (e.g. WP:BOOSTERISM!) or even Wikipedia articles (false balance!) as excuses to justify mass deletion of content. Alansohn (talk) 14:18, 18 March 2024 (UTC)
- I would personally strongly agree with the cleanup here. Wikipedia should be concise wherever possible. Allan Nonymous (talk) 22:04, 15 April 2024 (UTC)
