Building in title no longer exists and photo is of another building altogether

[edit]

The photo shown is of the extant Emerson-Holmes Building, which has a separate listing on the National Register of Historic Places. The Militia Headquarters Building was on the current parking lot immediately to the east (to the left of the Emerson-Holmes Building as you're facing its front.)[1] I think some confusion comes from the fact that the address numbers currently on the Emerson-Holmes Building - 564-566 Mulberry St - do seem to overlap with the historical address numbers of the Militia Headquarters Building (particularly the number 564), it's likely this occurred after the Militia Headquarters Building's demolition, as the Emerson-Holmes Building was listed on the National Register at 566 Mulberry St only. The Militia Headquarters Building was listed at 552-564, which is indicative of a wide building that extended further east, where the parking lot now is. 24.127.240.127 (talk) 05:59, 11 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry this took 3+ years for someone to reply, but you are absolutely correct. I am endeavoring to fix the error now. Oddly enough we actually have an article for the Emerson–Holmes Building, which itself is listed on the NRHP, so you would think someone might have noticed this before. Ah well. --Krelnik (talk) 12:11, 31 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
