[edit]I'm currently copyediting this. It's not cited, so I can't confirm whether or not pre-Marian centuries actually did contain 60 men. This would mean each contubernium contained 6 men, whereas every subsequent mention contains 8. Surely such a big change to the base unit of the army would merit more of a mention. I'm guessing this was just a slight error in the original article and changing it to 8 per contubernium throughout. If it turns out that I'm wrong then changing my info won't be difficult, but in the meantime having some light shed on the subject would help. Nach0king 20:50, 6 February 2006 (UTC)
