Help Needed

[edit]

I just created this article. This is the first disambiguation page I have ever created.

There is a real need for it too, because there are two "military brat" articles (one for the United States subculture, and the other for the International use of the term).

    • There are also two more closely-related articles (for a total of four with the term "Military brat" in the title) and there is also a Wikipedia category by that name.

Right now only one "Military brat" article comes up and the other (main one) can not be searched by Wikipedia (although it is s still-existing and well-developed article. **Its the larger one that can not be searched).

So I think a disambiguation page is a good idea, if not urgently needed, so that both (main) articles can be searched.

(And also in order to make the two Military brat "List articles", and the Wikipedia Category by that name, also more easily search-able).

But I'm inexperienced in creating disambiguation pages and any suggestions or efforts to help are welcome.

Thanks to the person who created a new "standard format" disambiguation page based on this page.

I am canceling my request for deleting this page, since the person who created the other (proper) disambig page merged it with this one. Thanks again to that person.

This Disambiguation Page is Not Search-able Yet in Wikipedia. Does Something Else need to be Done?

[edit]

Right now if I search "military brat" or "military brats" in Wikipedia I do not get this (disambiguation page). Rather I get one of the "military brat" articles and the other (American) military brat Wikipedia article is no longer searchable (within Wikipedia).

How does one make a "Disambiguation" page the primary search result for a term?

This is important as there are 4 (four) "military brat"-related Wikipedia articles (plus a category) and currently only one is coming up in Wikipedia searches.

Making this (disambiguation page) come up (instead) in any search for "military brat" would solve this problem.

Does anyone know how to do this?

I wish I knew,

It's now linked from some other other articles, and serves a useful role in helping readers to find the right "MIlitary brat" article.

However it does not come up in primary Wikipedia seaches for the subject, where it would be even more helpful. I'm not sure how one establishes this for a disambiguation page.
