Contested deletion
[edit]This article should not be speedy deleted as being recently created, having no relevant page history and duplicating an existing English Wikipedia topic, because...
It contains the actual text of the Act, and will contain information not found in the West Point article. Frankly, the article was nomonated for speedy deletion only minutes after it was created, and before anyone (familiar with early American history) had a chance to see what sort of in depth coverage the article will contain. There was much talk with Jefferson, Washington, Henry Dearborn and others that brought about the Military Peace Establishment Act -- many points of context that are not covered in the West point article. It almost seems that a bot came along and nominated it for deletion. Please give the article a chance before rushing in and deleting this article. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 21:12, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
@HappyValleyEditor:. Well, I was all set to start covering things in depth, but I guess now I'll just have to wait rather than waste my time adding in dept coverage only to see it deleted. How familiar are you with this subject? How did you come to make a decision for nomination in only a couple of minutes after this page was created? What is the hurry? Please give the article a chance before jumping to a decision. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 21:19, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
- Well, I see an IP user came in and removed the Speedy Deletion tag. Does this mean that the nomination for speedy deletion is officially cancelled? I'd like to know so I can continue work on the article knowing I'm not wasting my time. -- Gwillhickers (talk) 21:35, 19 March 2016 (UTC)
