Name dispute
[edit]User Lugnuts created this page MIlan Truban based on his source. http://www.sports-reference.com/olympics/athletes/tr/milan-truban-1.html I friendly informed him that the name of this person is (or may be) Rudolf Truban as used in many sources in states of foreign Yugoslavia, e.g. Croatia, Serbia, Slovenia.

- Correction. It was "get lost" after you failed to understand the basics of posting on someone's talkpage. Lugnuts Precious bodily fluids 16:12, 20 December 2016 (UTC)
Response to third opinion request: |
Thank you for requesting a third opinion. The problem seems simple at first glance: Is the common name of the athlete in question Milan Truban or Rudolf Truban? However, the problem is that there is little information on this person on English-language sources (as far as I have researched, and also based on what has been provided in the above discussion). Interestingly enough, when I typed in Google the name "Rudolf Milan Truban", one search result did come up. Perhaps this was the athlete's full name?
A good consensus solution would seem to be to change the title to "Rudolf Milan Truban". Nonetheless, this does not seem to be a case where consensus is necessary. The IP user has provided a substantial amount of evidence that indicates the name "Rudolf Truban" is more common (in a global sense) than the name "Milan Truban". Regardless, I am not one to oppose consensus editing. TL,DR: I recommend that the page be moved to "Rudolf Truban", but would not find it unreasonable for a consensus to be reached for "Rudolf Milan Truban"—the apparent full name of the athlete. Thanks again for requesting a third opinion. Have a great day!-- MarshalN20 Talk 17:02, 22 December 2016 (UTC) |
- Thank you very much for your opinion. I agree, either way is good for me.31.15.147.139 (talk) 08:57, 23 December 2016 (UTC)
