Removal of content on this Wikipedia article

[edit]

This warning goes to any user who deletes texts in this Wikipedia article without providing at least an edit summary on why the content was being deleted, much less any discussion on this Talk page.

It appears that whoever is trying to delete texts from Mikey Arroyo is picking on the portions that are critical of him. The user names of some of the editors who did this probably gives hints on where their sympathies lie with regard to the topic of this article: User:Promikey and User:Pampanga88; the rest are anons

While I understand where these users are coming from, please understand that any such behavior on Wikipedia is not tolerated, more so because the deleted sections received extensive coverage not just in the Internets but also in mainstream media: the issues on the Statement of Assets and Liabilities and about Congressman Arroyo's house in San Francisco (and the ensuing ANC interview), among others, had their fair share of coverage even in the foreign press.

Blanking a Wikipedia article or a section of a Wikipedia article is considered disruptive editing: this has been going on for some time and must stop. To those who are persistently blanking this article: If anyone here is having issues on why only these information are being added to the article, I challenge you to provide improvements that highlight, say, Cong. Arroyo's accomplishments and achievements. Ensure that your edits are properly sourced, can be verified by other people (i.e. it's not something you just made up), and that it is unbiased. We cannot tolerate certain negative edits owing to the neutrality policy and also because of the BLP policy or policy on the biographies of living persons (which acts as a counterbalance to edits that might lead to libellous statements), but all the same any edits with a heavy Pro-Mikey bias is not tolerated as well. Wikipedia is not a soapbox for promoting a pro- or anti- political campaign; leave that to the websites of Congressman Mikey's supporters or detractors, but leave it out of this Wikipedia article.

One final note: Outright vandalism can be removed, especially if it's an unsourced edit like this one. This is different, however, from an outright blanking like this recent one that doesn't even explain why the portions were deleted. At least provide an explanation on the edit summary, or go to this Talk page and discuss what the reasons are for blanking those sections.

If you are also interested in editing other Wikipedia articles about other Filipino politicians---especially true since the elections are about seven months away---I encourage you to do the same. Let's help make Wikipedia a better reference website, not as a campaign platform. Thanks. --- Tito Pao (talk) 02:00, 9 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

All looks fine.

I have moved the references from the middle of the article to the appropriate place near the end just above external links.
