I am reviewing this page. My first review; I shall do my best. - Harper J. Cole

Article intro

[edit]

In the opening paragraph of the article, we are told that Torrez won two games in the '77 World Series. This info is repeated at the end of the second paragraph. Best just to say this once, for economy?

  • I think the big argument for saying it twice is that the 1st paragraph is a REALLY brief summary, listing only the most important info of his career. The next paragraphs, while still only a brief summary, get a little more detailed, and the chronology is lost if we take it out. Sanfranciscogiants17 (talk) 11:23, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

St. Louis Cardinals

[edit]

Typo: "he his ERA"

Typo: "pitched for Licey after he year"

Possibly this section should be split into subsections (one for his minor league assignments, one for his time with the Cardinals proper)?

Baltimore Orioles

[edit]

Punctuation: there's a missing comma between the word "said" and the Frank Robinson quote.

I think "anymore brushback pitches" should be "any more brushback pitches" Source: https://www.grammarly.com/blog/anymore-vs-any-more/#:~:text=Any%20more%20and%20anymore%20have,t%20like%20tea%20anymore

Maybe worth linking to the Wikipedia article for "brushback pitches"? You did so for more common baseball terminology earlier in the article.

Oakland Athletics

[edit]

Repeated word: "Ron LeFlore used his speed to score a run for the Tigers a run in the first inning,"

Boston Red Sox

[edit]

Typo: "when the New York came to Fenway"

Typo: "his fewest innings since in a non-strike-shortened year since 1971"

Personal

[edit]

Typo: "celbrity"

Conclusion

[edit]

Other than these minor issues, with is a strong article, well-referenced and thorough. I'll await your response.

After changes

[edit]

All typos have been fixed, and the Cardinals section split into appropriate subsections. I agree, on reflection, that mentioning the World Series twice is justified, as the player's career highlight. I shall promote Mike Torrez to GA status...--Harper J. Cole (talk) 17:28, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
