I have looked for reliable third party references and failed to find any. I have also listed this biography as having Notability problems on Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Children's literature for several days and there have been no objections. If anyone would like to discuss this, or object, please post a message on my Talk page.--Plad2 (talk) 20:35, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Identity

[edit]

Five years later, I agree with that replacement by a redirect. Scholastic provides no biographical information about it, not even the common one- or two-liner. Polish Wikipedia alone carries a page for him, apparently a translation of our old one-liner, pl:Mike Phillips (ilustrator).

Mike Alan Phillips. I did find him at VIAF, thus the Library of Congress and several other national libraries. See template {{Authority control}}, added to the page today. VIAF 90666739 does now bundle him with (the Wikidata item for) Michael Phillips (critic) --the Chicago Tribune film critic also born 1961, we say-- but I don't see that any of the libraries is confused.

The Scholastic website clearly supports what we say, that he is or was the principal illustrator of Horrible Geographies, only a secondary contributor to Horrible Histories (principally illustrated by Mike Brown), so the redirect target is appropriate. --P64 (talk) 22:28, 10 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
