Absence

[edit]

Quoting from the article,

Mike Novick has the third longest period of absence for a character on 24. His jump from the finale of Season 2 to the 17th hour of Season 4 mark a total of 40 hours of Absence.

Where does this intel come from? I can remember only one longer absence -- Mandy, with 44 hours of absence if I remember correctly. Heck, now even Kim has a relatively long absence (35 hours). So.. who's the other? --Ludoviko 23:49, 29 June 2006 (UTC)

Mandy had two...season 1 to the season 2 finale and then to near the end of season 4 71.146.53.205 03:06, 30 July 2006 (UTC)http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Talk:Mike_Novick&action=edit[reply]
...Mandy's impressive!! Two "disappearances"... thanks guys. Ludoviko 18:55, 4 August 2006 (UTC)

Mike's Marital Status

[edit]

Mike can be seen in several episodes with a wedding band on, implying that he is married. I will revise this in the article unless someone has a conflicting theory. Mnpeter 21:10, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And actually, the wedding band can be seen on his left hand in the photo on this very page. 152.23.193.178 21:28, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I say just leave it alone until we get any concrete info on the subject. Order_66
I didn't say that he was indeed married, I just pointed out that the wedding band implies it. That definitely is a piece of trivia, and therefore should be included in the trivia section. But I'm not a fanatic so I'm not going to get into an edit war with you. If other people read this and agree one way or another, please post your thoughts so there can be multiple opinions. And perhaps you could simply post your opinion instead of deleting someone else's work. Mnpeter 05:52, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Primary Sources

[edit]

Excuse me, but since when are primary sources insufficient as sources of information? ZPrimary sources are THWE MOST RELIABLE SOURCES for information you can get, wespecially since this is a television program. I Think the people who wrote it and the show itself are the best possible places to get information realting to this TV show, rather than speculative and largely left-in-the-dark publications. For example, the media claimed knowledge of a leak that Jack Bauer was gonig to die in season 6, clearly this is not true. Hence, relying on third-party sources is a grave mistake if accuracy is the objective.

Hello anon. If purely in-universe articles were acceptable for Wikipedia, actual TV episodes would be the best sources. Think of the requirement as a check of notability. If something is significant enough that secondary sources have talked about it, put it on Wikipedia. If something is only significant to 24 fans (like this entire article), keep it off this wiki and use Wiki 24. Connor Behan (talk) 20:49, 1 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Merging

[edit]

Keep this article as it is. Mike Novick was a major character for four seasons of “24.” As he is still alive, he can also return. This merging madness has run amok. --MiB-24 (talk) 06:57, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Comment Mike could allways not return please see WP:CRYSTAL.--Lucy-marie (talk) 11:24, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Keep as per above, major character for four seasons, has appeared in over 50 episodes. 7th longest appearing character. Notice, lucy, how you latched on to the return statement and based your response on that, ignoring the rest. Something to think about, eh?--Phoenixfan 18:42, 30 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Keep Mike Novick as he was a major character and actually does have notability in the wider 24 universe. His relations with David Palmer, his subsequent 'betrayal' which resulted in Wayne Palmer becoming part of the story. His activity in both Day 4 and Day 5 as an advisor to Charles Logan makes him more than notable. Just because they have no chance of returning, does not mean that the article must immediately be tagged with a merge request. You might as well tag every single character that is deceased or written out of the show. --MistahWhippy

Keep per reasons stated above. Rhino131 20:31, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Keep per above. I wonder if anyone truly believes Mike, in the long term at least, could be considered a "minor" character. --T smitts (talk) 17:33, 6 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Keep per above, since when is appearing in a large number of episodes for 4 seasons not notable. At that rate, Audrey Raines, Kate Warner, George Mason, Ryan Chappelle, Abu Fayed, Habib Marwan, Wayne Palmer, Charles Logan, and many others I haven't mentioned will be going away also.Lan Di (talk) 05:20, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Keep Lucy-marie, I'm getting seriously tired of your antics. Was it not enough that you got bonked? You didn't have consensus for Karen Hayes either, and so your tag was yanked. I've pulled this one as well. You have managed to garner ZERO support for this merger in the three months since it was announced. Angelriver (talk) 05:49, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Helpful comment. No personal attacks - it's one of the five pillars of Wikipedia. Let's stay focused on the article, not the editors. B.Wind (talk) 04:46, 25 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
