- The MLB.com link is missing its "Bio" function and has for a long time. This references has cited the MLB.com bio eight times. This needs replacing as large swaths of the page are now unreferenced with the dead link.
- The lead fails 1(b) of the Wikipedia:Good article criteria because it doesn't adequately summarize the body of the article. The lead skips over the "Early life" and "Personal life" sections, and doesn't adequately talk about his college career or his high school career.
- The prose of the article moreover fails WP:WIAGA 3 because the prose isn't broad in its overview of the topic. It just lists stats and salary information a lot of the time in sections, such as the "Cincinnati Reds (1995)" section and the "Seattle Mariners (1996)" section. I found these articles on a quick Google search, and they should be included: What he's doing now, and here, include quotes about the playoffs with the Indians from here. Here's a mention that he doesn't like the music of Michael Jackson.
- He represented the team at the 2017 MLB Draft, should be added to personal life section.
- No mention of how he struck out the last batter in the 1998 ALDS here.
- No mention of how the single-A Spartanburg Suns team finished in 1984, or how his stats compare to others on the team.
- No mention of the pitches he threw during his career
- He took a no-hitter into the ninth against the Expos during his time as a Philly
- Found a reference outside MLB.com for him having a wife Tammy and a child 1 as of 1992
- More context about the 2000 Phillies being bad should be added.
- Probably need a disambiguation link with to at least Mike Jackson (left-handed pitcher).
- snippit preview calling him "one of the best set-up men in baseball" during his time with the Giants. Feel like this quote should be added to the lead too.
- There's something here about him no-hitting the Expos for his first MLB victory. Maybe find other sources based on that.
- The 1994 MLB season was Shortened to 115 games for the Giants unsure why "shortened" is capitalized

- References 2 and 3 and 25 need capitalization fixes in their titles.
- Fixed Hog Farm (talk) 22:36, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
- Jackson became the Indians' primary closer in 1998, definitely needs a citation outside Baseball Reference
- The Mariners did not resign Jackson should be re-sign, I believe.
- Fixed Hog Farm (talk) 20:05, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
- Unlike the previous year where he started all 14 games he pitched, no citation for this
- There is one - Ref 4, which is at the end of the sentence. The team pitching stats show Jackson appeared in 14 games and started all of them.
- Double-A and Triple-A are linked but Single-A is not? Also Double-A and Triple-A are capitalized but Single-A is not?
Overall mostly because of the lead and because of broadness I don't think this article meets the GA standards. Nominating for demotion. Therapyisgood (talk) 19:40, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
Some of this is easy fixes, some of it more difficult, I'd say this is definitely fixable if people keep working on it, but as it stands, it does need some work. Hog Farm (talk) 20:05, 23 April 2020 (UTC)
No further work on this after well over a month, so I'm delisting. Therapyisgood (talk) 16:55, 9 June 2020 (UTC)
