Birth country?

I showed this page to the granddaughter of Mike Ilitch and she believes he was not born in Macedonia. Rather, she believes her great grandparents were from Macedonia andtraveled to the U.S.A. before giving birth to Mike making him an American instead of a Macedonian. I think this needs to be checked on. Imasmartass24 04:48, 17 January 2006 (UTC)

So he was born in the US. Being born in the US..scary...ouch....Anyways, he was born there, but he's still of Macedonian background. You can not change that, no matter how much you try.

PS. Who with the right mind would want to be born in the US?

Who would want to be born in the US? Well if your here please leave. Back to the reason I stopped by. The Article is very slanted. Is this what Wikipedia does because the Ilitchs demolished some buildings, that the writter is obviously against, they get to take little digs in the article. Well this will be the last time I visit Wikinaziland. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 199.196.63.107 (talk) 14:25, January 3, 2007

Magnificent?

"officially joined the magnificent "billionaires club."" That doesn't sound encyclopedic...is there a reason "magnificent" was used? I'd remove it but I'm not sure if the quotation mark is in the wrong place, maybe it's part of the name. Go Wings! 198.6.46.11 (talk) 17:24, 20 May 2008 (UTC)

Consistency of Voice

Use of phrases starting with "would" make this sound like some kind of NFL Highlight films review. In general it reads more like a press release than an objective biography. MariaMitchell (talk) 19:59, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Political Activities

This section is very weak, referring to the amounts the Ilitch family has contributed but without reference to the nature of the causes. The "Controversies" section focusses on sports, but Ilitch's political involvement seems to have been more controversial in the relative scheme of things. He also has the interesting (typical?) pattern among corporate leaders of contributing to both sides of the aisle. A revision of this article should include a further exploration of this topic area with appropriate sourcing.MariaMitchell (talk) 19:59, 16 June 2009 (UTC)

Birthplace is a continuing Wikipedia legacy of error

The place of birth of Mike Ilitch according to Wikipedia does not agree with his company's VP of Corporate Communications. Read all about it at Akahele.org. -- Thekohser 19:55, 20 July 2009 (UTC)

Hmm, this book says Macedonia, while the AP says Detroit link. Tim Vickers (talk) 16:48, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
This article link has a direct quote from Illitch saying Detroit, that settles it for me. Tim Vickers (talk) 16:51, 21 July 2009 (UTC)

It was probably Macedonia, but the parents try to pass it off as America because of citizenship rights. Either way, he's an ethnic Macedonian legally considered as born in America. 99.236.221.124 (talk) 04:37, 30 April 2010 (UTC)
