Talk:Migration of Moroccan Jews to Israel
Merger proposal
[edit]I suggest merging the article Operation Yachin into this one. Thoughts? No More Mr Nice Guy (talk) 01:26, 23 January 2016 (UTC)
- I think both articles are notable issues, especially that migration of Moroccan Jews continues to this day, while operation Yachin lasted for 3 years.GreyShark (dibra) 18:07, 22 March 2016 (UTC)
- "*Better as two articles, the extraordinary nature of paying a capitation fee to a modern government so that it will permit a persecuted minority group to leave is better handled by the separate article.E.M.Gregory (talk) 01:12, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
- I'm gonna close this.E.M.Gregory (talk) 01:25, 2 March 2017 (UTC)
Murdered vs Killed
[edit]Pretty sure Wikipedia MOS says that riot victims were "killed" not "murdered." ImTheIP (talk) 15:01, 22 June 2017 (UTC)

Image
[edit]What on earth has the image of a Yemenite family walking through the desert got to do with Moroccan immigration (if not to suggest that the situations were identical?) The two situations were radically different. It should be removed as misleading in its innuendo that the plight driving Yemenis was repeated in Morocco, wholly false.Nishidani (talk) 11:46, 9 July 2021 (UTC)
Reason for post 1948 emigration
[edit]The emigrants after 1948 were not due to antisemitism, but were economic migrants due to the poverty they faced in Morocco. Only about 6,000 per year emigrated until the start of the Moroccan Civil War in 1954. https://www.jstor.org/stable/4283316?seq=10 Mcdruid (talk) 05:43, 26 September 2023 (UTC)
