I've added a number of citations, and linked to this page from a number of places (e.g. cleavage (embryo) and embryogenesis). If nobody objects, I'd like to remove the unreferenced and orphan tags. Odmrob (talk) 12:33, 1 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I am working to improve this page for a class project 2018. Working to improve the clarity and references. Amanda Kahn. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Amandakahn (talkcontribs) 17:04, 21 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am considering developing this page further as part of an educational assignment in Fall of 2013. If someone else is also working on this, please send me a message and let me know soon, so we donʼt duplicate initial efforts in page development. Heykei1 (talk) 17:29, 6 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Suggestion for improvement: I would like to take the information on the pre-MBT embryos out of the introduction and make it a subsection that includes some more detail. This article give some detail on transcription in preMBT cells: http://dev.biologists.org/content/129/24/5743.full. I also found another source that contains more information regarding the nucleocytoplasmic ratio and its role in midblastula transition: http://www.jbc.org/content/early/2013/08/28/jbc.M113.499012.full.pdf.
