Should this article be called Windows NetMeeting instead of Microsoft NetMeeting? Even official Microsoft material flip-flops between the two, so I'm not sure. But the official logo, clearly visible in the article, labels it as "Windows NetMeeting." NetMeeting's "About" window calls it "Windows NetMeeting," in text and not just in the logo. On the other hand, Google comes up with 5.805556 times as many results for "Microsoft NetMeeting" as "Windows NetMeeting." Still, I'd go with what the logo & About page say. Any comments/suggestions? --Tophtucker 17:37, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
MS Netmeeting lawsuit.
[edit]This might be worth mentioning:
http://www.itworld.com/App/4155/031125netmeeting/
"NetMeeting's retirement is unrelated to a patent infringement lawsuit involving the product that Microsoft lost earlier this month, the company said. A jury ordered the software maker to pay US$62.3 million in damages for infringing on a technology patent held by a division of manufacturing and technology company SPX Corp." '''i believe that it should be called Windows NetMeeting'''
Fair use rationale for Image:NetMeeting.PNG
[edit]Image:NetMeeting.PNG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

netmeeting and IE/Windows Explorer
[edit]Since I installed Netmeeting on XP, Windows Explorer has an Internet Explorer title bar. I take this to mean that Netmeeting integration in Windows Explorer is handled by Internet Explorer, but I haven't been able to find any details. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 150.101.166.15 (talk) 00:16, 12 November 2008 (UTC)
History?
[edit]This article doesn't really describe the history of the product at all. It really should, just like the article on Windows Live Messenger does. --129.21.225.231 (talk) 19:27, 31 August 2009 (UTC)
Disable?
[edit]No, i wouldnt rec it. All the losers on the internet tell you to disable this function but it is required for system stability when playing games or surfing the net i think mostly if you own a custom mb which takes small amounts of ram. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.255.42.105 (talk) 16:28, 22 December 2011 (UTC)

NetMeeting in XP Mode lacks the ability to share
[edit]The current post says that all NetMeeting capability is available to Windows 7 users within XP Mode. I believe you'll find that using XP Mode the share button is dim, and you are unable to share. You can participate in meetings, though. This is exactly the same limitaiton you get when you RDP into an XP machine to run NetMeeting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 165.170.128.65 (talk) 20:46, 22 March 2012 (UTC)
External links modified
[edit]Hello fellow Wikipedians,
I have just added archive links to one external link on Microsoft NetMeeting. Please take a moment to review my edit. If necessary, add {{cbignore}}
after the link to keep me from modifying it. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}}
to keep me off the page altogether. I made the following changes:
- Added archive http://web.archive.org/web/20160111091814/https://support.microsoft.com/kb/927853 to https://support.microsoft.com/kb/927853
When you have finished reviewing my changes, please set the checked parameter below to true or failed to let others know (documentation at {{Sourcecheck}}
