Seven or eight genera
[edit]@Piterkeo: I translate some of the land planarien articles to german, i just saw that you removed Amblyplana. Can you name the source, where I can find the information about this transfer? Sincerelly --Elfabso (talk) 21:43, 15 December 2020 (UTC)
- @Elfabso: The type-species of the genus Amblyplana is Rhynchodemus fuscus Moseley, 1877 according to Ogren & Kawakatsy, 1989. However, this very species is currently in the collective group Statomicroplana due to insufficient data for a proper classification according to Kawakwatsu et al. 2003. The only species that "remained" in Amblyplana was A. braueri, but this species was sometimes put in the genus Pelmatoplana and the Turbellarian Taxonomic Database puts it there. All these genera are actually a complete mess and need a good review. Unfortunately the number of people working with land planarians is very small. Anyway, currently all species previously in Amblyplana seem to be classified into other genera. Piter Keo (talk • contribs) 03:04, 16 December 2020 (UTC)
- Thanks for the answer. I was just wondering, because Sluys published in 2019 a paper ("The evolutionary terrestrialization of planarian flatworms (Platyhelminthes, Tricladida, Geoplanidae): a review and research programme"/Table 1) where Ambyplana is still listed (with 9 species). I think I won't cancel it in the german article. --Elfabso (talk) 23:58, 22 December 2020 (UTC)
