Ricciolino vs. Ricciolini

[edit]

I suspect that the entry on p. 373 of Michael Bryan's dictionary contains a typing error and the name there should actually read Ricciolini instead of Ricciolino. The indications that this is the case are strong. That dictionary does not contain an article on Michelangelo Ricciolini even though this was an important enough painter to be included and on the other hand Google does not seem to know this Ricciolino, apart from our article and the mentioning in Bryan's dictionary. Not only are the years of birth and death identical. Both have a connection to Rome (Ricciolino born there, Ricciolini studied there) and both apparently have a self portrait hanging in the Florence Gallery. This seems too much to be a mere coincidence to me. Proofreader (talk) 13:10, 28 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
