I have changed some of the phrasing of the discussion of Martin's career as Minister for health so as to remove the un-referenced bias. It is arguable that banning smoking in workplaces is sufficiently pro-health a measure to balance out his failure to bring about the enormous reforms necessary in the Irish health care system. That however is a judgement, and not appropriate for an encyclopedia article. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Boldymumbles (talk • contribs) 21:49, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
How is Minister Martin's first name spelt? It is Micheál (no i fada) or Mícheál (with i fada)?
(Note for non Irish speakers, the fada is the accent/diacrtitc over the i, e.g. í )
Correctly, the Irish language version of the name Michael is Mícheál (í - i fada and á - a fada), however this article should reflect how the subject spells his own name and looking at his own website Micheál Martin TD, it is clear he spells it Micheál, that is with an i not an í. This article was originally at Micheál Martin until recently when it was moved, using copy & paste, to Mícheál Martin. I have undone the copy & paste move from Micheál Martin to Mícheál Martin. The main article is now here. Copy & paste moves are to be avoided because the talk page and history are not moved. Use the 'Move' tab or if that is not allowed then ask an admin.
