I would like to add to Micks [as I knew him by] history by providing some more information on his pre acting days.I hope he does,nt mind.I met Mick in Morecambe Lancs working on the west end fairground,he was with another london lad named big george I,m afraid I dont recall his surname.However they both worked on the caterpiller ride ,and Mick met this blonde actress who was appearing in one of the towns theatres .I cant recall her name but I can certainly recall her looks she was beautiful and she used to sunbathe on top of the control cabin of the ride.Anyway when her season play ended as far as Iknow she left to go elsewhere and Mick went with her.I would be interested to know how he is faring,and if they had any family as there is an actor on television at the moment who looks a lot like mick. The 1 December 1984 date of death is incorrect as it refers to a different Michael Frederick C. Standing (born 28 February 1910). The actor Michael Standing was born Michael Lionel Standing. From research on Google News, he moved to California and married Mickey Spillane’s ex-wife Sherri in 1983. The U.S. Public Records Index, Volume 1 on Ancestry list a Michael L. Standing with a birthdate of 15 June 1939 living in Los Angeles, California in 1986. There’s no death record for him on the Social Security Death Index or California Death Index, 1940-1997. Therefore it’s possible that Michael Standing died in California sometime after 1997.
