Royal trivia

[edit]
From WP:INDISCRIMINATE: ". . . merely being true, or even verifiable, does not automatically make something suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia." In this case, the article cites a personal web page (not a WP:RS) which does not explicitly draw the conclusion it is being cited to support, thereby making it WP:OR by WP:SYNTH. Pointless genealogical trivia shouldn't be littered across Wikipedia, even if reliable and appropriately cited. Pointless genealogical trivia based on WP:SYNTH from a non-WP:RS needs a whole lot more than "I Like It" here and "How dare you?" on my talk page to justify its inclusion. --Agricolae (talk) 22:27, 14 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Tagged for lack of neutrality

[edit]

Even a brief glimpse at this article shows it so be woefully point-of-view.

  • "emulating the high level of British public service of successive generations of the McCorkell family"
  • "He shot chamois on Göring's mountain estate in Austria (the heads of the chamois were fine ones because the Luftwaffe had dropped hay to the beasts on the hill) and he kept the mess in trout with regular forays to the Alpine streams and lakes"
  • "had already seen him commanding it in the 1960s and, without hesitation, he became T & AVR Colonel"
  • "As a devout Christian, and a wholly ecumenical one, Colonel Sir Michael served all sides of the community, during some of the county's toughest times, without prejudice or favour, offering support or sympathy, but never doctrine"
  • "He was rightly proud of her own achievements"
  • "an honour in the very personal gift of Queen Elizabeth II"

This article needs a complete rewrite in my opinon. O Fenian (talk) 15:23, 28 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
